Picture taking fool
Ok so now I have my editing tools back I have become a picture taking fool.I am so tired of snow and cold and ice. Did I mention snow?I have to do something to keep my spirits up.So I set up a little "studio" in my girls' bedroom and thought I would take some fun and inspiring pictures.Ummm..... yeah, try telling that to my three year old and my one year old who didn't have that same enthusiasum that I had.By the time I was done I was ready to burst a blood vessel or two.Why is it that as soon as you decide to "stage" some shots it involves a lot of tears and screaming (and thats just me LOL!).If I have learned anything, it is that children are much easier to photograph in thier "natural habitat" doing what they like to do and not paying any attention to the fact that you have a camera in thier face.Sure you can throw a few props on them but don't even think about telling them where and how to stand.Bribary also works but not always as well as I would like.Oh well I will keep on trying after all you can never have too many pictures of your kids!

I have missed you....
I have not been able to do much photo editing in the last while because DH keeps messing with the computer. He changed from Mandriva to Ubuntu ( both are Linux). However when he did that, I lost some of my favorite editing tools because ubuntu was unable to support them.DH is such a sweety though and he down graded to an older ubuntu so I could have my plug-ins again. It makes me so happy! Except t now I stay up too late playing with my pictures. What are you going to do?
Also after much thought and research I have finally decided to get a Nikon D60 sometime in the near future.I talked to several people who have them and also some real Canon lovers, but I like the way the Nikon feels in my hands and the buttons on the back are laid out a little better than the Canon. At least in my opinion.I don't see myself purchasing a lot of different lenses.I think the one that it comes with is sufficient enough.I just want to take some good pictures of my kids and have fun doing it!

She does exist
Its funny.I was just browsing through my posts and realized that there are almost no pictures of my "monkey".It probably has a lot to do with the fact that it is nearly impossible to get a picture of her without one or both hands covering her face. She becomes extremely disagreeable if she even sees the camera pointed in her direction. It is much easier to take pictures of my "pumpkin" because she is quite happy to flash you a little smile or show off her baby blues.Oh well.I just wanted to show you she really does exist!

ONE
Where did the time go?I can scarcely believe that a whole year has gone by and my "pumpkin" is no longer considered a baby!T-O-D-D-L-E-R pout pout. She has certainly developed a little bit of an attitude over these last few weeks. And one I don't really appreciate. She has very loud temper tantrums, does not like being told "NO" and gets very upset if her older sister has found a warm spot on my lap.Its not all bad though. She is sweet, lovable, makes me laugh ,loves to hold her chubby little arms out for a cuddle and loves music and "dancing".She is almost at the point of being able to walk around. She took her first steps a few weeks ago but it is only now that she is gaining the confidence to really strike out on her own. There has not been any first words yet.But thats okay. I always find myself wondering "What will her voice sound like when she does?"I am looking forward to meeting more of who this little person will become over the next year
I will keep you posted!

At last!
I finally have some pictures to share with you.I was under the impression (mistakenly it turns out) that the cord for the camera was lost in our dining room somewhere.Apparently I was wrong. This whole time it was neatly stored in my DH computer bag.*sigh*No matter.I am soooo excited to share the results of our latest renovation. The installation of french pocket doors into the dining room. They turned out better than I could have imagined.I find myself staring at them in awe.Its great to be able to share my visions with DH and he just seems to make them happen! I think I will keep him LOL! OOOPS My apologies.the pictures have showed up in reverse order.Just in case you were wondering the before picture is the bottom right and the finished product is top left!
